Eureka Springs May Festival of the Arts

Each May, the artsy haven of Eureka Springs magically comes to life during this month-long celebration featuring special exhibits, art gallery strolls, colorful parades, music, community and more!

Eureka Springs has more than 350 artists working in all mediums, and during the May Festival of the Arts it’s their time to shine. From the Bridge of Love, plein air painting and the ArtRageous Parade, to concerts, art classes and the annual White Street Walk, this eclectic festival has been a cultural statement of the NWA Ozarks for 30 years!

2018 MAIN EVENTS INCLUDE:

Artmosphere Street Festival, May 5 ­– The ArtRageous Parade lines the streets with art and spunky performers creating a lively downtown “art-mosphere!” Also includes the wildly colorful ArtRageous Costume Contest!

Bridge of Love, May 10-13 – The 2nd Annual Bridge of Love event celebrates women and Mother’s Day by turning the Basin Bath Bridge into a floral masterpiece.

Art Wall Reveal, May 11 – A 3D and interactive photo display will feature then and now images of Eureka Springs on panels that span 100 feet long and 8 feet tall along First Street. Viewers will have the opportunity to experience the history of the city and how neighborhoods have changed over the years.

Music Park Yarn Bomb and Music, May 12 ­­– Crochet artist Gina Gallina and artist Ranaga Farbiarz are teaming up to turn trees into art! Interactive yarning and live music at Music Park are highlights of this event.  

Chalk Art Fest, May 16-20 – Nationally acclaimed chalk street artist Craig Thomas will lead the chalk art fest and conduct workshops. Craig will be joined by several local and regional artists for an exciting finale and reveal event!

28th Annual White Street Walk, May 18 – A party thrown by the artists themselves, the White Street Walk includes open house receptions, a street fair, a flash dance and other surprises!

Books in Bloom, May 20 – Hosted by the 1886 Historic Crescent Hotel, this free event features a bouquet of renowned authors speaking and reading from their books, as well as author signings.

Eureka Springs Plein Air Festival, May 21-24 – Now in its third year at the May Festival of the Arts, artists come together to paint the stunning, well-preserved architecture of downtown Eureka. Artists compete in a paint-out and quick-draw contest or submit their best plein air works for a public art exhibit and sale.
